CARVER _ Victoria May (nee Cooper) Our beloved mother died peacefully after a brief illness on February 24, 2006. Vicki was predeceased by her husband, Len Carver; her sister, Frances Leith, and brothers, Bill, Fred and Vic Cooper. She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan (John) Ward and Patti (David) Ogilvy; grandchildren, Matthew, Carolynne and Jeffrey Ward; Dave (Michael) and Kerry Ogilvy; Susan Galbraith; and 7 great-grandchildren. Vicki was born in the Collingwood district of Vancouver on May 23, 1915. She attended Sir Guy Carleton and John Oliver schools. For many years Vicki and her sister Fran owned and operated the Wishing Well Gift Shop on Kingsway near Joyce Road. Mum was an active volunteer in many organizations, especially the Canadian Diabetic Association, where she was instrumental in establishing a summer camp for diabetic children. In 1986 Vicki and Len moved to North Vancouver. Mum loved her waterfront home at Lonsdale Quay and made many friends at Harbourview Park and Lonsdale Quay Market. Her final months were spent in contentment at Capilano Care Centre in West Vancouver, and we are grateful for the kindness and care that was shown to her there. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetic Association or Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
