THOMAS SNYDER WHITAKER 1946 - 2010 Thomas Snyder Whitaker, age 63, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010. Mr. Whitaker was a native Pensacolian, a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School, after which he received a BS in Chemistry from Xavier University, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Business. Mr. Whitaker was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and was the owner of Applied Chemical Technology. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Whitaker. Survivors include his loving wife, Portia; devoted mother, Minnie; son and his fiance, Thomas, Jr., and Carolee; daughter and husband, Stephanie and Alberto; grandchildren, Danielle, Alonzo, Lorenzo and Armando; as well as numerous other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Norma and Raymond Simmons. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Patrick Foley as celebrant. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery on Monday at 11am. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 12noon to 6pm. Benboe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
