Thomas N. Nugent Thomas N. Nugent, 92, former head football coach at Florida State University from 1952 to 1959, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006. A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. EST Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. EST today at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191).Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Lawrence, Mass. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors include his nine children, Thomas P. Nugent (and wife Amy) of Hastings, Mich., Kerry Flack of Tallahassee, Peg Nugent (and friend Nell Fawcett) of Sarasota, Terrance Nugent of Indialantic, Pat Nugent (and husband Keith) of Lakeland, Timothy Nugent (and wife Paula) of Tallahassee, Mimi Lewis (and husband Randy) of Tallahassee, Jerry Nugent (and wife Carol) of Knoxville, Tenn., and John Nugent (and wife Susan) of Palm Bay; a brother, John Nugent (and wife Jean) of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Peg Nugent.
