Thomas George Hebert, beloved husband of Irby McNeal Hebert for sixty years, died unexpectedly on December 15, 2005. Born on April 29, 1924 in Lansing, Michigan, Tom was a Michigan State University alumnus and a World War II veteran. He lived in Beaumont the past 51 years. He retired from Texas U.S. Chemical and was working at Texas Marine Company owned by his son. He leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy of hard work and dedication to family, friends and tolerance for all people and faith, three children, Ron Hebert and wife, Margie, Theresa Hebert and husband, Marshall Hennington, and Mike Hebert and wife, Janice. He also leaves a sister, Madeline Rickerby of Sun Lakes, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, Connie Dillon, Brian Hebert, Allen Hebert, Jason Hebert, Ryan Hebert, Melissa Hebert, Charlotte Hennington and John Hennington; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A devoted member of First United Methodist Church for 51 years, Tom taught Sunday School, served on numerous outreach committees and ministered to those less fortunate. The family will receive visitors at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 17. A service of celebration of his life will be held Sunday, December 18 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, Beaumont, Texas with burial following at Claybar Haven of Rest Cemetery.
