->Theresa L. King1928-2015FAIRFIELD - Theresa L. King, 87, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Waterville at the Sisters Hospital. Theresa was the daughter of the late Alfred and Adelaide (Pelletier) Poulin. She also had a stepmother, Leona (Fecteau) Poulin.She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. King; three sisters, Jeanette, Carmen, and Viola; and one brother, Alfred Poulin.Theresa graduated from Waterville High School. She was employed by C.F. Hathaway, Yard Goods Store, part time as a telephone operator at Seton Hospital, and also at the church as an assistant for Religious Classes. She was a very devoted Catholic, sang in the church choir, and volunteered anytime she was needed. She taught CCD classes for many years and would read to the younger children at the Fairfield Elementary School. Theresa was part of the Born to Read program, and also was involved with Girl Scouting for many years.She had a passion for sewing, drawing, quilting, carving, and writing. Theresa belonged to the Sisters of Charity, and would go for prayer meetings, which she loved. She was a devoted mother of eight wonderful children; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Theresa was a Eucharistic Minister for many years, going to the hospitals, nursing homes, and home bound people. Seeing all the people she knew and loved the saying that best fit her was "It's not the quantity of friends, but the quality." She had many friends, and loved them dearly.Surviving are her three daughters, Cynthia and Richard Budman of Macugie, Penn., Christine King of Waterville, and Caroline and Mark Towle of Norridgewock, her five sons, Steven and Natalie King of Fleetwood, Penn., Edward J. King Jr. of Allentown, Penn., Jeffrey and Helen King of Fairfield, Daniel King of Waterville, and Mark King of Waterville; five grandchildren, Justin Madore, Theresa (Madore) Griffith, Tamara King, Derrick King, and Samantha King; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12 at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at www.lawrybrothers.com.
