THOMAS R.DAVY, 87US Steel Accounting Manager REDMOND, WA. - Thomas R. Davy, 87, passed away in Redmond, WA, on September 18, 2012 due to natural causes. Thomas was born on September 30, 1924 in McDonald, Ohio. He graduated from Girard High School, and entered the service where he served with the medical corps of the US Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He received the Bronze Star with a "V" cluster for valor. After the service he enrolled in Ohio University and graduated with a degree in economics. He went to work for US Steel in the accounting department and while working there went back to college and received a degree in accounting from Youngstown College. Thomas was promoted to supervisor and eventually to manager over the stores for both McDonald and Youngstown Works. Upon the closing of the US Steel mills in Youngstown, Thomas was again promoted to manager of accounting for the USS-Agri Chemical facility in Bartow, Florida where he worked until his retirement. While living in Florida, Thomas enjoyed his many close friends, and his favorite pastimes of playing golf, and playing Bridge. He taught duplicate bridge, and received his Lifetime Masters in Bridge. Thomas leaves his devoted wife of 69 years, Dorothy Lucille DuChanois Davy; two sons, Tom and John; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Brent, John and Morgan; a brother, Harry E. Davy of Youngstown, Ohio. Thomas was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and of the Presbyterian Church. He was cremated and his interment will take place at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
