CLIFTON PARK -- Thomas J. "Tom" Conroy, 80 of Clifton Park, beloved husband of Catherine A. Walsh Conroy of Clifton Park entered into eternal life at home in the loving comfort and care of his family on Saturday, June 16, 2012.Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John and Nellie Donovan Conroy and was a graduate of St. Joseph's School in South Troy and LaSalle Institute in Troy, Class of 1949.He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.Tom was an ardent supporter and fan of the University of Notre Dame. He was very involved and volunteered to support the Notre Dame Alumni Association. For his efforts over the years, he had been recognized and awarded a plaque. He was a communicant of St. Edward Church in Clifton Park and previously at St. William's Church in Troy.Tom was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Kevin Conroy.Beloved husband of Catherine, devoted step-father of Carol (Walter) McNall and Catherine (Frederick) Alund, both of Clifton Park, Michael (Tammara) Catalano of Waterford and George Catalano of Huntington Beach, CA, brother of Martin Conroy of Waterford, John (Ann) Conroy of Troy and the late Mary Butler, Ann Baron and Emily Conroy, cherished "Papa" of Christopher, Brian, Kevin and Mark Conroy, Alexander Alund, Ryan and Shannon McNall and Jacob Catalano, also survived by 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 in Clifton Park, thence to St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd. in Clifton Park, where at 10 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m.In lieu of flowers, the family desires for memorial contributions to be made to the Notre Dame Club of NENY Scholarship Fund, 12 Milner Ave, Albany, NY 12203, in his memory.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C.
