Sharon L. Hicks MIRAMAR BEACH - Sharon L. Hicks, 51, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, from injuries sustained in a private airplane crash in Washakie County, Wyo. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m EDT Saturday at the chapel of Jerry Evans Funeral Home, 668 Walton Road, DeFuniak Springs (850-951-0668). She was born Dec. 27, 1953, in Dothan, Ala., to Thomas Ewell and Margaret Paulk Hicks.She moved with her family to Tallahassee, where she graduated from Tallahassee Community College in 1971. She later received her associate degree from Atlanta College in Stone Mountain, Ga. She married James Carney, and they made their home in Thomasville, Ga., from 1974 until 1976 and to this union was born their son, Clint.In 1978 they moved to Tallahassee, where Sharon was involved in auto sales. She married John Johnson in 1985 and their son Cody was born. They divorced in 1988. In 2000 Sharon and her family made their home in Destin, where she was an independent real estate broker. She loved deep-sea fishing, boating and water skiing.She also enjoyed gaming 777 and playing video poker. Among survivors are her mother, Margaret Simpson; two sons, Clint Carney and Cody Johnson; a brother, Thomas J. Hicks; and three sisters, Shelia Hicks, Pam Hicks and Angie Hines. Sharon was preceded in death by her father.
