Samuel Roscoe Foster - Athens -Samuel Roscoe Foster, 82, of the GA. War Vet Home in Milledgeville, GA, and previously of Athens, GA passed away on November 2, 2006. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Oakley Foster and is survived by a daughter and her husband, Cynthia F. and Bob Graham, of Lexington, SC and a son and his wife, Brian R. and Lynn Foster, of Savannah, GA. He had 4 grandchildren, Rob and Amy Graham, of Lexington, SC and Brent Foster, of Savannah, GA and Lauren Foster of Charlotte, NC. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Foster was the son of Samuel M. and Annie Lee Wood Foster. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Lee Foster and Willie Mae Whitaker. Mr. Foster served in Germany and France during World War II, and was a retired tobacco salesman. He was active with the Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts in Clarkesville, GA, and was a previous member of Young Harris United Methodist and a member of Lexington United Methodist Church in Lexington, SC. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2006 at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev.'s Dickie Knight and Mi Young Paik officiating.
