-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->O'Donnell, Robert WilliamRobert William O'Donnell, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away on November 22, 2014 following a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on Dec. 7, 1932, he was the son of William and Agnes (nee Gray) O'Donnell. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Eileen O'Donnell Scrodin and brother-in-law Rudolph Scrodin. He is survived by his wife Laureen (Laurie) O'Donnell (nee Lawson), his cherished nieces Dianne Rider (Thomas), Lorraine Pellegrino and their children Sarah Rider, Thomas Rider, Alexandra Pellegrino and Amy Pellegrino. Mr. O'Donnell, a graduate of Gorton High School received his Bachelor's Degree from Fordham University and Master's Degree from Pace University. He served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict and Honorably Discharged on 12/31/60.Mr. O'Donnell was employed for over 25 years at Refined Syrups and Sugars in Yonkers as an Accountant. Following retirement, he was then employed for thirteen years by the City of Yonkers as an Inspector in the Building Department. Bob loved people, celebrations and especially music, dance and sports. In his youth. Mr. O'Donnell and his sister owned and operated the O'Donnell School of Dance in Yonkers. Bob was a talented amateur pianist; he was also a long term member and past president of the Male Glee Club of Yonkers and sang in the Sacred Heart Christmas Concerts. An avid tennis player he was a long term member and past President of the Amackassin Club. Over the years, he especially loved his regular sessions there with "The Guys", his wonderful, faithful friends.Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday, December 1st from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 2nd at 9:30am at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, New York.
