Buck, Robert R. Aug. 25, 1920 - July 25, 2007Robert R. "Bob" Buck, 86, Venice, formerly of Logansport, Ind., died July 25, 2007.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, Ind. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at the Metea Cemetery in Indiana.Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Betty; sons Donald of Sarasota, James of Kokomo, Ind., and Frank of Venice: eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildrenBob was on two occasions, the Cass County, Ind., golf champion; and he was a runner-up Logansport, Ind., city golf champion. His on-the-green putting was a legend, and on one occasion, allowed him to defeat the great pro golfer, George Bayer, in tournament play at the Logansport County Club. As a home builder, he was a "measure twice and cut once" craftsman. Bob was appointed Logansport's first building commissioner and served the city of Logansport from 1955t to 1956.He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1981 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the New Life Alliance Church, life member of Elks Lodge #66, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and owner of the Hardees Restaurant in Logansport.
