Mr. Robert Glenn "Bobby" Wade, 68, of Florence, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at his residence, after an extended illness.He was a native and life-long resident of Lauderdale County and was retired from Occidental Chemical. Bobby was a member of Mount Zion Church of Christ, where he served as song leader for 35 years and as an elder for 24 years.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, 2006, at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Mount Zion Church of Christ, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Brad McKinnon and Robert Huffaker. Mr. Wade's body will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m.Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Wade; mother, Ruby Wade; and a daughter, Sherry Wade Pigg.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jacqueline Boyd Wade; two daughters, Pam (Jack) Belew and Susan (Jim) Wallace; son-in-law, Travis Pigg; six grandchildren, Emily Clemmons, Stephanie Pigg, Jessica, Lauren, J.T. and Ron Wallace; two brothers, Billy and Doyce Wade; and a sister, Debbie Hendrix.Pallbearers will be elders and friends, Kenny Hickerson, Herman Lard, John Hollis, Glen McMurtrey, Aaron Clemmons and Jimmy Medley.Special thanks to Hospice of the Tennessee Valley, especially Teresa, Cindy, Sherry, John and Dana, and to our church family at Mount Zion Church of Christ.Bobby was a loving husband and a devoted daddy and grandaddy who will be missed greatly.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Christian University or to the Lauderdale Christian Children's Home.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing.
