NORTH DORSET -- Robert C. Connors, 88, of North Dorset, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Helen Porter Health and Rehabilitation in Middlebury. He was born in North Dorset on Feb. 17, 1919, the son of Patrick and Gertrude (George) Connors. He married the former Mary Pashol in St. Jerome’s Church in East Dorset and together they settled in North Dorset to raise their family. Mary passed away on March 17, 1999.A lifelong resident of North Dorset, Robert was a supervisor with the Vermont State Highway Department, with which he worked for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Bearor of Middlebury; two brothers, Martin Connors of Wallingford and Alfred Connors of Castleton; a sister, Ruth Smith of Florida; his grandson, Eric; and he leaves his three best friends Ted, Warren and Walt.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m., at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in East Dorset. Burial will follow in St. Jerome’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home 34 Park Place, Manchester, on Wednesday, Aug. 29 form 6 to 9 p.m., when the family will be in attendance.
