Rita Lacasse Scott SANFORD, N.C. Rita Lacasse Scott, 82, died Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born in Worcester, Mass. on May 24, 1927, the daughter of Gideon and Anna (Simoneau) Lessard. She resided in Claremont, N.H. for 20 years, in Paisley, Fla. for eight years and had recently made her home with her son in Sanford. She was the widow of Bernard J. Lacasse, who died February 14, 1991. The surviving family includes two sons, Ronald J. Lacasse and Robert R. Lacasse; two daughters, Elaine Lacasse Nixon and Janice Lacasse Davis; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Bunnell, Theresa Berry and Cecilia Bedard, and two brothers, Norman Lessard and Henry Lessard. She had made her home in Paisley, Fla. with her companion, John Muir, for the past eight years. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Lessard and Maurice Lessard, and three sisters, Claire Lessard, Alice Lessard and Simone Birmingham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated December 28 at 11 a.m. in St Marys Church in Claremont, N.H.
