Funeral for Rilla Mae Wales, 85, of Athens will be Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Rick Craft officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Wales, who died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at her residence, was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Limestone County to Alvis Tillery and Florence Black Tillery. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Church in Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Wales; and her daughter, Joyce Wales. Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Johns of Athens and Debbie Danley of Muscle Shoals; three sons, Harold Wales and Randy Wales, both of Athens, and Steve Wales of Montgomery; two sisters, Flossie Hodges of the Hollands Gin community and Clara Butler of Ardmore; three brothers, William Tillery of Ardmore, Joe Tillery of Athens and Doug Tillery of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Mark Wales, Ryan Wales, Jeff Wales, David Wales, Tim Anerton and Troy Chambers.
