Avis de décès de Reginald-Lorne Allen


ALLEN, REGINALD LORNE Reginald L. Allen of Lower Hainesville passed away February 22, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Keswick in 1912, he was a son of the late George and Hannah (Dunphy) Allen. Reginald was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as the only member from the Maritimes with the Calgary Highlanders. He was trained as a mechanic and followed the forces throughout England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He began work as a farmer, later moving to Fredericton where he was employed at the Marysville Cotton Mill as a weaver and mechanic. In 1946, Reginald made a personal commitment to the Lord, and served his church and community faithfully from that day forward, serving in many capacities in every church he attended. In the 1970's he retired and moved back to Lower Hainesville to enjoy gardening and working in his woodlot. Reginald is survived by a daughter, Melissa Murray, Lower Hainesville; a son, George Allen (Dolores), Green Valley, Arizona, USA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Daisy Allen in 2006; three sisters, Marguerite, Jean and Muriel; three brothers, Raymond, Walter and Hazen Allen; a daughter-in-law, Ann Allen; a son-in-law, Keith Murray; and a grandson, Allan Keith Murray. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Lower Hainesville Wesleyan Church, 468 Central Hainesville Road on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ron Mercer and Rev. Carl and Evelyn Brewer officiating. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held at the church during the funeral service. Interment will be later at Lower Hainesville Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Reginald, the family has suggested the Lower Hainesville Wesleyan Church or the Poppy Fund of the Millville Royal Canadian Legion. www.flewellingswan.com February 25, 2008
