KEATING, Raymond Francis - April 17, 1922 - November 20, 2007. After a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully at home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Jean and their children, D'Arcy (Monica), Ann (Ralph), Frances, Gregory, Michael (Kate), Clare (David), Bernie (Cathy), Mark, Desmond (Wanda) and Lorraine (Roger). Also survived by 27 grandchildren. Ray served in the R.C.A.F. for 2 years of the Second World War. He achieved his dream for an education when he received his B.A. from St. Michael's College, University of Toronto. He began his teaching career in Oshawa and then moved to the north to Iroquois Falls in 1956. He went as principal to Cobalt before accepting a position as principal of Lakeway C. & V.S. and then to Bawating C.& V.S. both in Sault Ste. Marie and retiring as Principal Emeritus in 1986. Ray was a great husband, father and educator. There was nothing he could not build, no machine he could not fix. All his life he was faithful to his Catholic faith and finally found his beloved mother, Mary. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 492 Wellington St. E., Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, 705-759- 2522 on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 2- 4 & 6-9 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated from St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 26 Carmel Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10 am. Rev. Hamish Currie officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or St. Jerome's Catholic Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family. www.mem.com 10909162
