<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Jul. 27, 1932 - Jun. 17, 2014 Mona Jean Knight Holmes, 81, born on July 27th 1932 a lifelong resident of the Oak Grove community, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Jean was a member of Oak Grove First Baptist Church, and will be greatly missed by the family and friends she leaves behind. Jean was the most loving Wife, Mother, Gigi, Nanny, Neeny,Granny,sister and aunt. She was a great friend to all. Her home was always open to those she loved. She never met a stranger and loved life to the fullest. She gave where the need was and most of all she loved her Lord and SaviorJesus Christ. She is preceded in death by husbands Joe Knight (first love of her life and father of her children), Bill Holmes, and4 loving brothers. She is survived by 3 children Brad Knight (Debbie),Melanie Davis (Dave), and Karen Smith (Jim); 8 grandchildren, Brian Knight, Justin Knight, Katie Davis,Hannah Davis, Amy Davis, AdamDavis, Karlee Ledlow, Haley Dees (Kevin), and Jimbo Smith. She is also survived by 2 siblings, Lona Massey andKenneth Welch, anda host of nieces and nephews as well as one daughter by love Gina Hicks (Todd, Anna and Justin). Visitation will be at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown, Alabama onSaturday June 21, 2014from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Grove First Baptist Cemetery. The family would like to thankCharleton Place Nursing Home, Jackson Hospital, Jackson Hospital Palliative Care Team,and Hospice of Montgomery for their wonderful, loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks thatdonations be made toHospice of Montgomery(1111 Holloway Park, Montgomery, AL 36117) who handled her care so wonderfully.
