<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Mary Helen Wilson Whittle went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Otto Whittle, along with her children, Rosemary Blackmon, Johnny Blackmon, Angela James, husband Tim, and William Otto Whittle, Jr., and wife Ann. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Fleming James, Tim James and wife, Ann Turner, Sarah James, Brooks Blackmon, Olivia Blackmon, Kathryn Stallworth and Trey Whittle and with the following nieces and nephews: Frank Smart, wife Jackie, Foch Smart, wife Lori, Martha Leatherwood, husband Frank, Iris Anne Wilson, Susan Crist and Tommy Graddy, wife Penny. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lilly and Malcom Wilson, her brother Mack Wilson and her sister Gladys Smart. Ms. Whittle was a Mississippi native who moved to Alabama as a young adult, attended college and began working in civil service at Maxwell Air Force Base. She had an exemplary career of 20 plus years in contracting and was awarded the national Air University Award for Outstanding Civilian in Base Contracting. She thoroughly enjoyed life and took great pleasure in sharing it with her family and friends. She loved arranging flowers, playing bridge and tennis and attending sporting events with her children and grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Whittle will be held at Hayneville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 28, with visitation at the church starting at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Hayneville Baptist Church, P.O.
