Mary Louise Ives, 72, Sarasota and Dearborn, Mich., died Sept. 7, 2002, at Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn. She was born June 22, 1930, in Ypsilanti, Mich., and wintered in Sarasota. She graduated from Albion College and was a docent for 20 years at the Detroit Institute of Art. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Village Club, American Association of University Women, and First United Methodist Church, Birmingham, Mich., where she taught Sunday school. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, H. William; sons H. Russell of Birmingham and James R. of Troy, Mich.; daughters Catherine I. Jones of Carmel, Ind., and Carolyn I. Coppen of Birmingham; a sister, Elsie M. Ferentz of Upper St. Clair, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Michigan, where The William R. Hamilton Co., Birmingham, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Detroit Institute of Art, 5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48202; or to Cottey College, 1000 W. Austin St., Nevada, MO 64772.
