She was born in Lowell, July 28, 1909, daughter of the late John J. and Anna T. (Curley) Sullivan, she was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.She graduated high school in 1927 from the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro. She received a degree in education from Lowell State Teachers College. After moving from Lowell to Chelmsford, Mrs. Kiernan resided in the town's North Chelmsford section.Prior to her retirement, she was a principal and teacher in the Dracut school system for many years.Mrs. Kiernan was a member of the Chelmsford Garden Club, the University of Massachusetts Lowell Alumni Association and the Academy of Notre Dame Alumnae.She is survived by a sister, Helene Knaeur of San Diego. She also leaves a sister-in-law Alice Kiernan of Lowell; her cousins, Richard and Elizabeth Boland of Westford,Timothy M. Boland of Hudson, N.H., and Julie Ferguson of Hooksett, NH.
