<!-- FH = Greenlawn Funeral Home South -->Marjorie L. (Jones) WileyMarjorie L. Wiley, age 92, passed away June 24, 2011, following a long and fruitful life. Being one of nine children, Marjorie, the daughter of Frank and Maude Jones, was born August 31, 1918, in Springfield. She married Jim Wiley, of Springfield, August 31, 1940, in the Elwood Methodist Church parsonage. Marjorie followed Jim to California after he joined the Army Air Corp to become a World War II pilot going on to retire a Colonel in the United States Air Force. Their family included two children, Pamela and Jim. They lived throughout the United States, from California to Washington D.C., Maine to Florida, and overseas in Scotland, Greece, and Belgium. When Jim retired, they continued to travel, establishing businesses and developing real estate. In Springfield, they developed the Deer Lake Golf Course and Housing Development. After Jim passed away in 1992, Marjorie returned to Springfield to live where she and grandsons, Donald and Noel Spering continued to operate Deer Lake. Marjorie's feisty wit and fun-loving spirit will linger with those privileged to call her mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, or friend. Her love, loyalty, and pride for family and friends are the legacy she leaves behind, demonstrating what she always considered most important. Her smile and laughter made each family gathering a little happier, each celebration a little more joyful, and each personal interaction a little more memorable. Her stamina for life will long be remembered and admired.Marjorie is survived by daughter, Pam Spering and son-in-law, Jim Spering of Suisun, Calif.; son, Jim Wiley III of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandsons, Don Spering and wife Linda of Suisun, Calif., Noel Spering and wife Michelle of Springfield, David Wiley of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Marjorie Dae Spering Lloyd and husband, Matt of Fresno, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Alexa Spering, Payton Spering of Suisun, Riley Spering, Collin Spering of Springfield, and Wiley Lloyd of Fresno. Marjorie is survived by a brother, Rex Jones; a sister, Dorothy Johnson; sisters-in-law, Deloris Wiley and Margaret Jones; all of Springfield and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and William Jones; and sisters, Inez Kelley, Gladys Roach, and Helen Harrell. Services will be held June 29, at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri. The family would love to visit friends and family one hour before the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Clear Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any Memorial contributions to the MS Society. Cards and letters can be addressed to Pam Spering and Jim Wiley at 501 Kings Way Suisun, CA 94585.
