MULLER, Marie Helena Marie H. Muller was born February 5, 1921 to Jacob and Tina Muller at Kelstern, Saskatchewan. She passed away on January 18, 2008 at Salem Manor Nursing Home in Leduc. She was predeceased by her parents; one sister Louise; two brothers: Hans (Elsie) and Paul. Surviving are two sisters: Olga of Regina, SK., and Tillie (Don) of Three Hills, AB.; two brothers: Willy (Marie) of Edmonton, AB.; and Ernest (Susan) of Sherwood Park, AB., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie lived through the Depression and the effects of poverty. As a result, she invested her life in teaching school in some out-of-the-way schools that had difficulty hiring teachers. Her last assignment was in Milk River, AB., where she taught for 18 years. She retired in 1980 and moved to Abbotsford, BC where she and her sister Louise were active in helping seniors who encountered health problems and needed transportation. After the death of her sister Louise, Marie returned to Edmonton so she could be closer to her family for support and continuing care. In 2003 her health began to fail and she entered long-term care at Salem Manor Nursing Home in Leduc. Here she blossomed under the compassionate care of the staff. She enjoyed the hymn sing times and the special entertainment at the home. In her youth, Marie committed her life to Jesus Christ and used every opportunity to express her faith in active service to her fellow pilgrims and neighbors. The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the staff of caretakers and health providers at Salem Manor. Marie considered you as her family and appreciated every act of kindness shown to her during her four and one-half years of residency. A Memorial Service will be held at Salem Manor on Wednesday, January 23rd at 10:30 a.m., and a funeral service will take place at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, in Abbotsford, B.C. on Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences: www.serenity.ca Serenity Funeral Service, Edmonton, 450-0101.
