Bridgewater Marie King, of Bridgewater, May 9, 2008, after an extended illness and struggle with breast cancer. Born in Biddeford, Maine, a daughter of Alexander G. (Kiko) King and Anna Marie (LeBlanc) King, she was a graduate of Marillac College in St. Louis. She had been a member of the community of St. Joseph of Lyons who provided pastoral services in Maine and the Boston area until leaving the community to pursue a doctorate in psychology at Boston College. She served as executive director of clinical programs for the prison mental health services in the Department of Corrections as well as director of psychological services at the Massachusetts Treatment Center. She was most recently employed as director of psychological services at Taunton State Hospital. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Samuel Azza; three children, Chiara, Savita and Tanay Azza; as well as two stepchildren, Andrea Azza and Amy Gaudet; two grandchildren, Emily Rose Gaudet and Treyson Barros. Her loving sister, Priscilla Ouellette of South China, Maine; and four nieces and nephews also survive Marie. She also leaves behind her loving cousin and dear friend, Barbara Lawe of Fairfield, Maine; as well as numerous cousins and friends. In addition to her biological family, she leaves an extended family of colleagues and friends who have provided support, counsel and encouragement to her throughout her life. Especially during the latter stages of her illness, Marie's neighbors and friends provided her and her family with immeasurable support and comfort. Marie was an avid gardener who loved flowers. She traveled extensively in Europe and the United States and made friends wherever she went. Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Tuesday at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, at 9 a.m. Burial will be private.
