Dr. Margaret Ruth Read Wakefield, 88, died June 9, 2006, at her home in Vermilion, Ohio. She was born in Akron and lived in Vermilion from 1945 to 1985. She was a winter resident of Sewalls Point of Florida since 1985 but made her summer home in Vermilion. Her practice included two specialties, internal medicine and psychiatry. She was a member of the Literacy Council, Garden Club and International French Club, all of Stuart. She was a graduate of Kent State University and the Western Reserve University Medical School. She was a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Psychiatric Association. She was named to the Sigma Xi Honorary Research Fraternity and the Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teacher's Fraternity. Survivors include two sons, Read F. Wakefield and Theodore D. Wakefield II, both of Vermilion; two daughters, Margaret Wakefield Worcester and Deborah D. Wakefield, both of Vermilion; a sister, Phyllis M. Read of Vermilion; and six grandchlldren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore D. Wakefield, and sister, Patricia Moore. Memorial contributions may be made to the Historic Vermilion Inc. Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 37, Vermilion, OH 44089. SERVICES: The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. June 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion.
