MAIN, Margaret "Peggy"July 26, 1911 - November 11, 2011Peggy, or Aunty Peggy as she was fondly referred to by family and friends, passed away peacefully at the Carewest Sarcee Care Centre on Friday, November 11, 2011. Peggy became a centurion on July 26, 2011, a wonderful achievement for a wonderful lady. Devoting over 35 years of her life as a teacher and school administer in Alberta's schools, Peggy has had an impact on countless students, leaving her own legacy for others to remember her by. Following her long career in education Peggy devoted her retirement years to travelling and caring for her aging parents. The three of them traveled to Scotland, Mexico and across Canada on one very special trip to visit Peggy's Cove. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rose Main; niece Laurie (Bill) McDonald; nephews Rod (Karen) Main, Roy (Linda Patterson) Wonnacott; and Tim (Diane) Main. Peggy was predeceased by her parents William and Margaret Main; sister Nina (Harry) Klysen; brothers Jim (Mary) Main; and her younger brother Bob Main. To Peggy's long-time friend and schoolmate Mary, and all staff and volunteers at the Carewest Sarcee Centre, thank you for not only providing excellent care for Peggy but for their friendship over the years. Thank you all so very much. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Carewest Sarcee Care Centre, 3504 Sarcee Road S.W., Calgary AB, T3E 4T4.
