Mary G. York, age 93, of North Ballston Ave. passed away Thursday, September 2, at Baptist Health and Nursing Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Brunswick on June 7, 1917, the daughter of Arthur and Marie Couillard Gagnon. Mrs. York attended local schools and later Nasson College. She and her husband, Gerald, came to Schenectady from Framingham, MA in 1956. He died in 1981 after 35 years of marriage. Mrs. York was an avid bridge enthusiast. She loved and enjoyed her summer home in Robinhood, Maine. She was a communicant, a member of the Rosary Society, and a Eucharistic Minister of the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Route 50. Mrs. York was a member of the Albany Country Club and the Mohawk Club. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9 at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, September 10 at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish, Pleasant St., Brunswick, Maine followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick. Donations in her memory may be made to the Gerald M. York Memorial Mathematics Scholarship Fund.
