Funeral for Loyal Edward “Ed” Masterson, 78, of Leighton was to be today, Feb. 10, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia with A.H. Akins, Terrell Bragwell and Bill Clement officiating.Burial was to be in Old Bethel Cemetery. Visitation was Monday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Masterson died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004. He was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Masterson was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Everett Masterson; his mother, Annie Bell Masterson; two sons, Ricky Masterson and Randy Masterson; and one sister, Allee M. Potter. Survivors include his wife, Earlene Saint Masterson; one sister, Tommie Nicholson; one grandchild, Dena Adams and husband Marty; and one great-grandchild, Derrick Lee Adams.Pallbearers were to be Tom Ed Masterson, Hollis Coan, Edward Bradford, Edwin Fretwell, Avis Saint and Willard Boatwright.
