Louise E. Hendrix Myers, 96, died May 29, 2007, while visiting her granddaughter's family in Steamboat Springs, Colo. She was born in Atlanta, Ga., in 1911, and grew up in Gainesville, Ga. She married Maurice E. Hendrix in June of 1932. They lived in Gainesville and Cleveland, Ga., and had three children, Maurice Jr., Barbara and Robert. They moved to Ormond Beach, Fla., in 1944. Maurice E. Hendrix Sr. died in 1958. Louise married Raymond H. Myers in 1963. Raymond died in 1970. She moved to Bishop's Glen independent living in 1988 due to a visual impairment. She resided there until May of 2006 when she moved to Cody, Wyo., to live with her daughter, Barbara Egan. Her year in Wyoming was very active participating in events, church, visiting grandchildren and a trip to Florida this past winter. She and her husband, Maurice, were charter members of Ormond Beach Methodist Church. She attended Riverview Methodist Church after her marriage to Raymond. In Cody, she attended Christ Episcopal Church. Louise was a wonderful mother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her banana pudding was legendary! No one could beat her at checkers! She had a wonder sense of humor and a zest for life that amazed everyone. She will be remembered with great love by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brother. She is survived by children, Maurice E. Hendrix (Jan), Cedar Key, Fla., Barbara Egan, Cody, Wyo., and Robert (Pat) Hendrix, Gainseville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Celebration of her Life was held June 16 at Christ Episcopal Church, Cody, Wyo. A service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Ormond Beach, on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Florida Methodist Children's Home, 51 Main St., Enterprise, FL 32725.
