PEPPERELL -- Lorraine M. (Saunders) Adams, 79, of 12 Maple St., formerly of Fitchburg, died Saturday, Jan. 1, in Beverly Hospital, after a long illness. She was born in Worcester on Nov. 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Frederick B. and Muriel I. (Powers) Saunders. She grew up in Westminster and attended Fitchburg High School. She lived most of her adult life in Fitchburg before moving to Pepperell in 1976. Mrs. Adams most recently worked as a secretary for Attorney’s Sheldon and Sullivan in Groton. Prior to that she was a home health aid for the former Fitchburg Home Staff and before that she was a waitress at Monty’s Garden in Leominster and the former Pinehurst Restaurant in Fitchburg. She enjoyed dining, dancing, music and the beach. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a great love for animals and nature. Mrs. Adams leaves her son, Stephen F. Ambroze and his wife Susan T. of Saugus; a step-son, David Adams of Clinton; and two step-grandchildren, Kerri Coger of Dracut and Shawn Frotten of New York City. Her second husband, Charles M. Adams, died in 1997 and her first husband, Leon S. Ambroze, died in 1958. ADAMS -- On Jan. 1, Lorraine M. (Saunders) Adams, 79, of Pepperell. The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, at 12 p.m. in the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes (www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net), 129 Elm St. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner. A calling hour will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 739 Water St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.
