Douglas, Linda M. GRAPEVINE, TEXAS Linda Marie (Maggy) Douglas, 67, of Grapevine, died on Friday, December 28, 2012. Born in Saranac to the late William E. and Cora (Furnia) Maggy, she graduated in 1962 from Saranac Central School in Saranac. She then earned a one-year business admini stration- accounting diploma from Albany Business College in Albany. After a short time working for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, she worked as wife and mother, enjoying leadership roles in both the PTA and Girl Scouts in Meriden, Conn. Subsequently, she moved to Albany where she retired in 2007 after a 30-year career as a correspondence specialist with the New York State Executive Chamber. Dedicated mother of Lisa of Grapevine, Dawn of Albany and Marc Douglas of Albany. She spent her five years of retirement enjoying the Texas sun and doting on her only grandchild, Maille. Her favorite holiday, Christmas, was her hobby. Preceded in death by brothers, Harold of Saranac and Arthur Maggy of Morrisonville, and sister and best friend, Esther Allen of Albany. Linda is survived by dear brother, Edmund Maggy of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; her three children, beloved granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. At Linda's request, her body has been donated for research. In lieu of services, the family will be creating a private on-ine memorial.
