FT. MYERS, Fla. - Lewis John Frost, 82, of Washington, N.H. and Ft. Myers, passed away at home in Florida in the presence of family on Dec. 23, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 26, 1930, in South Hadley, Mass., to Lewis and Gladys (Mitchell) Frost. Lew was an accomplished artist, aerospace engineer, and author. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with a B.A. in Commercial Art in 1953, and graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1957. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. Lew was an aerospace engineer for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years, with numerous patents. In 1990, Pratt & Whitney and the American Society of Engineers selected Lew as the distinguished engineer of the year. Lew leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, MaryLou (Otis) Frost; children Lewis Scot Frost & wife Debbie of Tolland, Conn., Ronald Frost & wife Fawny of Cape Coral, Fla., and Suzanne Maki and husband Marc of South Windsor, Conn.; five grandchildren, Michael Lewis Frost, Kevin and Jena Maki, and Nicole and Ashley Frost; two brothers, Ronald Frost and wife Nancy of Export, Pa., and Arthur Frost and wife Marilyn of Hardwick, Mass., and a dear sister-in-law, Pat Dorgan of Enfield, Conn. He was predeceased by a loving grandson, Sam Frost. . SERVICES: His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Fri., Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, Conn. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sat., Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at the United Congregational Church of Tolland, 45 Tolland Green, Tolland, Conn. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
