Quinton, Kathleen JaneAug. 3, 1920 - Feb. 8, 2014 Kathleen Jane Quinton, nee McDonnell, went to God on Saturday Feb. 8, 2014. She is survived by Joseph, her husband of 62 years, and by three children: Brian Quinton, Jane Telich and Colleen Kotts. A fourth son, Emmett, died in 1985.Kathleen was born in Manhattan, New York City, in 1920, where she majored in art and illustration at Straubenmuller Textile High School before working as a fashion illustrator for McCall's magazine and Simplicity Patterns. She continued that art interest as an amateur, in oils, watercolors and pastels, when Joe's career led the family to extended postings in Geneva Switzerland and London. After returning to New York, Kathleen and Joe also lived and worked in Aruba, N.A., and Cairo, Egypt.A viewing will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, on Wednesday Feb. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave., at 10 a.m. on Thursday Feb. 13. Interment will follow immediately at Sarasota Memorial Park.Kathleen's good humor and ever cheerful outlook will be missed, not only by her family and friends but by all who know her.
