Kathleen A. (Alvero) Malley, 84, of Marshfield, formerly of Easton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Malley Sr. Born in Boston, March 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Katherine (Glancey) Alvero, she was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth. A resident of Easton for 47 years, she moved to Marshfield one year ago. A homemaker devoted to her family, she was a longtime poll worker for the town of Easton and was a member of the Easton Democratic Town Committee. She was a former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton. Kathleen enjoyed bird watching, feeding birds and was an avid reader. She is survived by her children, Michael Malley of Essex, Vt., John Malley of Wareham, Edmund J. Malley Jr. of Marshfield and Ann Malley-Laneau of South Weymouth; four grandchildren, Caitlyn and Sean Laneau of South Weymouth and Kevin and Peter Malley of Vermont. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Alvero and Sr. Carmelita Alvero. A funeral Mass was celebrated July 29, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Easton. Interment followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St., Easton.
