Mahoney, Kathleen A. (Balzano) WYNANTSKILL Kathleen A. Balzano Mahoney, 67, of Simmons Road, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital Albany. Born in Gloversville, she was daughter of the late Louis Balzano and Helene Jackson Balzano and wife for 48 years of William B. Mahoney. She was raised in Gloversville, resided in Troy and Wynantskill most of her life and was a graduate of Gloversville High school and Troy School of Beauty Culture. Kathy owned and operated Cathie's Boutique on 4th Street in Troy for 36 years and for 47 years worked as a hairdresser at Van Rensselaer Manor, Beverwyck and St Louise House. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and was a member of the Troy Area Hairdressers Association. Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Deborah (Gregory) Wyld, Ballston Spa; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary (Dominick) Testo, Wynantskill and Thomas Mahoney, Wynantskill; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Zigorelli and a brother-in-law, Gerard Mahoney. Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Jude the Apostle Church, Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kathleen A.
