Katherine "Kitty" M. Gannon passed away on Monday, August 2nd, with her children and grandchildren by her side. Kitty was born in Manulla, County Mayo, Ireland in 1930. She was the youngest of eleven children of Patrick and Marion Ralph. Kitty was educated at the Convent of Mercy in Castlebar, and later worked in the post office where her father was Postmaster. She married John Francis Gannon "Frank," in 1950. Kitty and Frank moved to Bronxville in 1959, where they raised their eight children. Kitty has remained an infectious and joyful spirit to the villagers to this day. Kitty is survived by her seven children: Rose (Todd) D'Annunzio, Raymond Gannon, Yvonne (Fran) Cunningham, Ann (Rich) Hopwood, James (Cheryl) Gannon, Kevin Gannon and Kathy O'Rourke.. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, brother Sean, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Her husband Frank and son Gerald predeceased her. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4th from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, 20 Cedar St. Bronxville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 am at St. Joseph's Church, Bronxville, New York.
