Joseph J. Amaral RAYNHAM Joseph J. Amaral, 56 years old, died Oct. 1, 2008, in Boston Medical Center, after battling liver cancer since July. Born in Taunton, son of the late Manuel and Eleanor (Carey) Amaral, he had been a resident of Raynham for the past 13 years. He was educated in Middleboro schools and had been employed for over 30 years as a union glazier. He was presently employed at Cardinal Window Systems in New Hampshire. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating and tinkering in his garage, but most of, all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary V. (Wirtanen) Amaral of Raynham; and his three daughters, Rachel Amaral and Rebecca Amaral, both of Raynham, and Stephanie Amaral of Skowhegan, Maine. He was the brother of Betty Sylvia and her husband Karl of Lakeville, Pat Bettencourt and her husband Fran of Middleboro and George Amaral and is wife Debbie of Oxford; and Joe was also the uncle of several. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the First Congregational Church of Raynham (Stone Church), Raynham Center, Saturday at 2 p.m. Visiting hours will be held in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Rte. 138 South), Taunton, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations in Joes memory, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Amaral Children Scholarship Fund, 28 Sherwood Lane, Raynham, MA 02767.
