GARCIA, Jose "Joe," 84 passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006. Joe served in the U.S.Army during World War II and received the Eamet Campaign Medal with five bronze service stars for his participation in battles and campaigns in Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teodoro and Maria Garcia; his wife, Ismenia Hernandez Garcia; brother, Emilio Garcia; brother-in-laws, Joe Fernandez, Lionel Hernandez, Raul Hernandez, Hector Hernandez and Mario Hernandez; and nephew, Danny Fernandez. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Pat) and Jack Streuber; son and daughter-in-law, Jose J. and Mary Jean Garcia; three grandchildren, Jason A. Streuber, Danielle Streuber and Jose N. Garcia; one great granddaughter, Gianna Streuber; sister, Carmen Fernandez; brother and sister-in-law, Julian and Lydia Garcia; sister-in-law, Inez Garcia; and numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers are: Jose J. Garcia, Julian Garcia, Jason A. Streuber, Emilio Fernandez, Julian Garcia Jr. and David Fernandez. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Streuber, Bob Garcia, Evelio Hernandez and Randy Coen. A graveside service will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Garden of Memories. The family request that those attending the service go directly to the cemetery. The family wishes to thank Migdalia Gonzalez and the staff at Migdalia's Assisted Living Facility, for the love and care they provided Joe, and Hospice of Tampa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
