John Willis Skidmore, age 80, of Springfield, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the St. John's Hospital in Springfield after a brief illness. John had been a longtime business owner of a Skidmore Body Shop in Springfield with his son, Doug. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Springfield. Surviving his his wife, Janet, of the home four sons, Doug and Mark of Springfield, and John and Jeffrey of Kansas City, Mo. two stepdaughters, Jan Hutton of Centerville, Tenn., and Johnna Vandelicht of Lebanon, Mo. one brother, Herbert of Springfield 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Harold Hendrickson officiating. Burial under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, at Butler Chapel in Bolivar.
