John Trask Webber 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, Virginia , and his children and grandchildren, after a brief illness. John was born in Beverly to Arthur Hammond Webber and Kathryn Doherty Webber. Upon graduating from Beverly High School in 1942, John enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served in both Atlantic and Pacific Theatres during World War II. He then attended the University of Massachusetts- Amherst. Johns successful career with Equitable Life Assurance Company spanned over 50 years and he was a member of their Hall of Fame. John married Virginia Lee on June 22, 1952, and began raising their family in Danvers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Kate Niedel and her husband, Richard of Longmeadow, Peter Webber of Woburn, Judi Webber Sidmore of Danvers, David Webber of Danvers, Sue Webber Belmer of Fryeburg ME., Sarah Moholland and her husband David of Danvers, Jean Dunfey and her husband Jim of Wilmington; cherished grandchildren Kristin Sidmore, Bradford Niedel and his fiance, Kristen Richards, Ashley Niedel, Andrew and Caraline Moholland , Erik and Kaylee Belmer, Kevin, Patrick, and Brian Dunfey. John also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Arthur and Richard and his sisters, Phyllis Estes, and Natalie Gulbrandsen. John enjoyed many wonderful times at his home on beloved Moose Pond in Denmark Me., where he was a member of the Lake Kezar Golf Club. He was a founding member of the Danvers Kiwanis Club, a proud life member of the VFW Post 2359 of Danvers, a member of the United States LST Association, board member of the Danvers Senior Center, member of The Danvers Historical Society, former trustee of Mount Ida College, and past president of the Mr. and Mrs. Club, and a member of the POGO golf league. Arrangements: were under the direction of the Mackey Funeral Home, Memorial contributions may be made in Johns name to Kiwanis Club of Danvers, Po Box 92 or the Danvers VFW Post #2359, 5 Conant St, Danvers.
