Avis de décès de John Shanahan


He was born in Lowell on March 22, 1926, son of the late Daniel and Lorri (Thompson) Shanahan. He was educated in the Lowell school system.Mr. Shanahan served in the Navy during World War II, and attained the rank of seaman.He was a heavy equipment operator for more than 40 years for the city of Lowell, retiring in 1991. Mr. Shanahan was also a boxing trainer at the West End Gym in Lowell.He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Lowell and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Lowell.Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and his wife, Samuel and Lauri Fritz of Ayer; two daughters and a son in-law, Martha Balamotis of Lowell, Helene and Thomas Quinlan of North Conway, N.H.; a brother and his wife, George and Eleanor Shanahan of Lowell; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Mr. Shanahan was also the brother of the late Daniel Shanahan, Lorretta Dunn, and Rose Fuller.
