John Henry Salter1957-2009John Henry Salter was born August 4, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida. He departed this life on July 20, 2009, at his residence. He fought a long courageous battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma.John was a very kind and caring person. He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Englewood Baptist Church, and later Emmanuel Baptist Church. John joined the United States Army after graduation from high school. He was honorably discharged in March 1982.John moved to Orlando, Florida, in 2008 to receive treatment. It was during this time that he became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. John was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mae Francis Salter; his father, Marcus Siler; a step sister, Lucy Siler Bell; and a brother, Lige Salter. John leaves precious memories to be cherished by two sons, Quijano Ewing Salter of Yokosuka, Japan and Johntavius Salter of Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters, Syvellia (Sam) Mosley, Minnie Horne of Pensacola, FL and Catherine (Linwood) Harris; three brothers, Lamar Hill, James Hill and Aaron Hill, all of Pensacola, FL; one grandson, Amari Ewing Salter from Yokosuka, Japan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
