NICKERSON John Richard July 23, 1958 ~ October 21, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce John's passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on October 21, 2007. Predeceased by mother and father, Kathleen and Cecil Nickerson of Sechelt. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 29 years, Marie Nickerson (Leech); sons Jeremy Alan (Ashley, Jaeden) of Alberta and Jacob Daniel (Sarah) of Gibsons; sisters Sandra (Bob) Jepson of Powell River and Brenda (Ray) Hooper of Alberta; brothers Barry Nickerson of Powell River and Alan (Karen) Nickerson of Sechelt. He also leaves behind aunts Colleen and Janet and uncle Ray; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law; and fantastic friends and teammates. John was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast working in logging and booming. His free time was spent playing soccer, fishing and golfing. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. A short service will be held at Devlin Funeral Home in Gibsons on Saturday, November 3, at 11 a.m. A celebration of life to follow at Gibsons Legion Hall.
