LANSINGBURGH John M. Nielsen, 50, of Seventh Avenue, Lansingburgh died Sunday, October 5, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of Theresa Muscatello Nielsen of Waterford and the late Raymond C. Nielsen Sr. and fiancee of Dorinda Dolan of Lansingburgh. Mr. Nielsen was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1971, where he was a standout athlete. He was a foreman with the Freihofer Baking Co. for over 25 years, retiring in July 2000. He was a retired member of Local # 50, B.C.T.G.M. John was an avid fan of all sports, especially Saratoga racing and golf. He also loved trips to area casinos. Survivors in addition to his mother, Theresa and his fiancee Dorinda include; two sons, Brendan Nielsen of Melrose and Thomas J. Nielsen of New York City; a daughter, Terra Nielsen of Troy; a sister Christine A. Nielsen of Clinton, N.Y.; three brothers, Raymond C. Nielsen Jr. of Clifton Park, Wayne A. Nielsen of Stephentown and Mark G. Nielsen of Waterford. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and 3rd Ave., Lansingburgh, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church, 115th St. and Fourth Ave., Lansingburgh. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
