AITKEN, John Frederick (Fred) Ernest At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, of Fred Aitken of Lower Montague, age 82 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Beloved husband of Marjorie Aitken (nee Campbell). Dear father of Suzanne, Souris; John, Lower Montague; Jane (Gordon) Brookins, Oxford, N.S.; Lynn (Mike) Brazel, Charlottetown; and Paul (Donna), Alberta and Lower Montague. Loving grandfather of Jillian and Ryan Brookins, Devan, Alysha and Caleigh Aitken. Also survived by brothers, James (Margaret), Montague; Albert (Margaret), Charlottetown; and by sister Freida, Charlottetown. Predeceased by sisters, Helen Wight and Mary Notting, and by brothers, Charles and Parker. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home until Saturday, then to Hillcrest United Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in the Lower Montague Cemetery. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. If so desired, memorials to Masonic Children’s Auction or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion Montague Branch #8 will hold a service of remembrance for their comrade at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. All comrades are invited to attend. The Eastern Star will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. St. Andrews Lodge AF and AM #13 will hold a Masonic memorial service for their brother at 9 p.m. All brethren are asked to attend. www.fergusonsfh.com
