John F. Greene of Holbrook, formerly of Dorchester, died Sept. 19, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Son of the late Mary and John Greene; his wife of 60 years Mildred (OToole) Greene. Father of Kathleen Foster and her husband Oscar of Holbrook. Proud grandfather to Michael Foster (LAPD) of Santa Clara CA. Godfather of Karen Fitzgerald of Holbrook. Beloved brother of James Greene of Quincy, Hellen Curran of Dorchester, who was by his side throughout his illness, Thomas Greene of Dorchester, and the late Mary Rinehalter, who John always held in a special place in his heart. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Greene family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Josephs Church on South Franklin St. in Holbrook. Burial will be private, and there will be no visitation services. Donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph MA 02368, or to the Holbrook Fire Department, 300 S. Franklin St., Holbrook MA 02343, both were a great help during Johns illness. Special thank you to Old Colony Hospice, they did an exceptional job.
