John F. Duffy, 70, of Bridgewater passed away Oct. 2, 2011, in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from a sudden illness. He was the husband of Elinor Duffy, to whom he was married for 45 years. He was born in Quincy to Jeannette Duffy and the late Francis Leo Duffy of East Weymouth. John was a retired computer analyst and an avid recreational pilot and sailor. He is survived by his children, Brian Duffy of Westborough, Jacqueline Coco of Melrose and Peter Duffy of Easton; sister, Mary Jane Johnson of Middleboro; brothers, Gerard Duffy of Marshfield and James Duffy of Hanson; and grandchildren, Maddison, Saffron and Nathan. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Basil's Chapel, 122 Park Ave., Bridgewater State University, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
