John D. Howellof Owego, N.Y.John D. Howell, 68, of Owego, N.Y., passed away at home on Monday, September 5, 2005. He was born in Glenfield, N.Y. on January 8, 1937, the youngest of seven children, to the late Ezra and Mary Grace (Kirch) Howell. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth (Folvarcik) Howell; nine children, Carolyn (Craig) Smith, Deborah (David) Fenton, Michael Howell, Felicia Howell, Renee (Michael) Nicholls, LaDonna Howell, John (Priscilla Jorgensen) Howell, Janeen Howell, Bryan Howell, eight grandchildren, Nicole, Stephanie, Ashley, Sean, Jacob, Zachary, McKenna, Joshua; one brother, Varian (Virginia) Howell; one sister, Patricia Gorczyca; several nieces and nephews. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He graduated with an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. John went to work at IBM, where he served as an engineer for 31 years. He enjoyed camping with his family, flying, gardening, and collecting guns. He will be sadly missed by all.A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rt. 17c West, Owego, N.Y. 13827 on Thursday, September 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. Friends are invited to call at Richards on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2.
