ALLAN, John - Johnny (smiling blue eyes), passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Norma for 55 years. Loving father of Gina (George) Ravenek and Laurie Breton. Proud grandfather of John David Valdina, Mike and Mark Petrychanko, Richard and Chris Breton & Great grandfather of Mylana. Dear brother of Duncan (Margaret) and George (Barbra), and special brother-in-law of Adam & June. Uncle of Wayne (Helena), George (Fiona), Sheri (Dave), Bradley and Brent, and and nieces & nephews in Scotland and California. Predeceased by parents George and Elizabeth, daughter Margaret and great granddaughter Christine. Johnny will also be missed by his many friends at the Merritton Lions Club, Tuesday Senior Bowling League, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17, Thorold, and the many friends he made along the way. Thank you to Staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital, especially Dr. Dooler for her compassion and Dr. Pringle for his kindness. The family will receive friends at the HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Saturday from 10- 11am. The Merritton Lions Club will hold a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, March 1st at 11:00am. Cremation to follow.
