Joan Clarke Wallace died Oct. 3, 2005, in Southampton, N.Y. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Southampton and Vero Beach. She graduated in 1949 with a degree in history from the College of Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale, N.Y. She was a member of the College of Mount St. Vincent Alumnae Association. Survivors include her husband, Andrew J. Wallace; sister, Anne Tobin of Key West; sons, Ekongkar Khalsa of Mills, Mass., Lawerence Clarke of East Hampton, N.Y., and Nicholas Clarke of Henryville, Pa.; daughter, Beth Tallant of Sebastian; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis J. Clarke; and a daughter, Mary Alice Clarke. Memorial contributions may be made to College of Mount St. Vincent, 6301 Riverdale Ave., Riverdale, NY 10471. SERVICES: A funeral Mass and burial in Sacred Hearts Roman Catholic Cemetery were conducted in Southampton. Arrangements were by O'Connell Funeral Home, Southampton.
